  • Problems with AE7 after updating to OSX 10.4.8

This is a warning for all Mac OSX after effects 7 users (it may affect earlier versions of AE as well). I’ve just installed the update to 10.4.8 of OSX and after effects is now horribly unstable. It keeps locking up in a error loop reporting memory errors (ie. it can’t allocate RAM to functions). This is on a Quad G5 with 4GB RAM, which was working flawlessly before the update.

Be very wary about installing this system update until this issue is resolved. I’m trying to find the AE7 bug report form to let the Adobe Team know about this. I’m praying it’s a quick fix 🙁

I have the same configuration. G5 Quad, 4.5 GB RAM.

Updated to 10.4.8 with no problems. I suggest you run Onyx or some other utilitiy and perhaps run MemTest to verify installed RAM.
