Water condensation on window
Posted by Julian Sixx on September 23, 2006 at 11:38 amHi
I have a shot through a window and i’d like to add water condensation at the bottom of this window.
I also would like to have one drop that runs down the window and as soon as it hits another drop they’d merge together.
Any ideas?Julian Sixx replied 19 years, 7 months ago 4 Members · 9 Replies -

September 23, 2006 at 11:54 amCC Ball Action (generic drops), CC Mercury (for the merging one), Bubbles or other particle systems. Use duplicate layers with Displacment for fake refractions. Other than that, I believe there is some such filter in one of the Tinderbox plugin suites.

thank you guys!
I ‘ve tried the CC Ball option. How do i get the balls to look like water drops?
I use it as a displacement map and it looks just bad.Ref picture:https://www.wunderground.com/wximage/viewsingleimage.html?mode=singleimage&handle=Catbart&number=154

September 23, 2006 at 3:46 pmYou cannot change the shape of the spheres, unfordunately. If that’s required I can only – once again – recommend Trapcode’s Particular with a custom particle shape.

September 25, 2006 at 8:37 pmOnce you have mattes for the drops, you can use our Shade/Shape. $89.95
It builds a 3D inflation on your matte and allows you to reflect the background image on it for a glassy and/or watery effect (and other effects, not just glassy). It really works great as the mattes of your droplets merge and split. You can try a demo of it, available from the downloads section for Shade/Shape : https://www.revisionfx.com/rsshade.htm
Look in the gallery section on our website for some examples. The second to last one has a glassy, watery effect.
If you have trouble, simply post to me a couple of frames of your droplet mattes and source material and we’ll get you a sample project. You can email that info to techsupport@revisionfx.com
