  • AJA Lhi & Breakout box component & SDI problems?

We just got our AJA lhi cards & breakout boxes for our Media100 Suite2 MacPros. I’ve been working with one system today.

I installed the AJA 9.0.3 drivers.

I set SDI out to composite to feed a monitor but am getting no signal.

I set media100 input for component and connected the cables to our beta deck & tbc. I can control the deck but am not getting a picture. I thought it’d be pretty much plug-n-play. Remove the old G5/HDX box and hook up the new stuff but I’m stuck.

Component out to the monitor works. HDMI out to another monitor works.

[Jaeson Koszarsky] “I set SDI out to composite to feed a monitor but am getting no signal.”

The Kona breakout boxes work the following way: either you get a Component signal on the analog outputs, or you get a Composite + SVideo output on the analog connections. This means if you set the analog out to Composite & SVideo, you need to hook up your composite monitor to the “Y” output of the breakout box, not to SDI.
Regarding the component input, this should work as well. Are you sure you´ve connected the multi pin cable and the digital video connections between the BOB and the LHi card correctly? Does the LHi breakout box show up in the “About Media 100” info window?

BOB is showing up in the Media100 about window.
Media100 Video In – SD component

Checking cables but not success so far.

If I open the AJA Control app, I can see the output of my Beta deck on the monitor.

Beta -> TBC -> BOB Component IN
BOB Component OUT -> Monitor Component IN

But when I return to Media100, I get a green light for the video-in in the acquire window but lose the picture on the monitor & get green. The media100’s record monitor window is black.

Changing the video pedestal to 7.5 corrected the problem.
