ok, i’ve been searching and searching, and i can’t find an answer, so don’t yell…

i’ve got some logos from invigorator that i want give the whole reflective floor look to. i’ve got the reflection without any problem. i have no problem with that. i’m just not happy with the floor. right now i just have a 2d backgrgound with a radial gradient on it. looks ok, but a floor with a seamless/neverending backgroud just sells it that much more. problem is, i can’t get it right. i did John Dickinson’s tut for a floor using fractal noise. i did that, rotated 90 degrees. makes a pretty cool floor. but it doesn’t blend with the back “wall”; there’s a very harsh horizon.

    any help?

You might be able to create a mask on the floor and then feather it until it blends well. Or another idea might be to tighten the depth of field on your comp camera so that the background goes out of focus and blends together. I’m not sure if that helps or not,(or if you’ve already tried that).

sometimes, it’s cool to use a roud mask : you don’t have corners, and for me, it simulates the horizon better : the horzon has no corners, it’s round !
