Hi … I don’t know … I don’t post for ages and then twice within an hour ! – I bought a track from the itunes store and want to use it in a home movie (my holiday snaps) AE doesn’t like the M4P so i opened it (’cause I couldn’t think of anything else to do) in Qtime and exported as a movie … it will now go into AE and, indeed, play when I open it from the project window but it won’t play in the timeline window … there isn’t a waveform … any ideas please ? best Roger

I just tried the same thing in AE and FCP here and it turned out the same way.

The iTunes Store files have a tricky copy protection on them, preventing you from sharing them. I think that’s the problem here.

Could you bring it in to FCP or another NLE, drag it into the timeline and export the movie?

you can try ephpod. put the song onto your ipod, download the ephpod which allows you to take the music off your library, . its saves the files as a wav,or avi, cant remember. then import it into ae
