Hi I’m cutting on dual G5 with Final cut and after effects 6. I am trying to help a friend out with some graphics and an opening but he cuts on a media 100 system and I’m not very familiar with that system. Basically he was going to just put some footage on an external hard drive for me to throw on my system. In what format should he export the video(from his media 100)that will allow me to bring it into after effects on my computer? quicktime? or how would you go about doing this? If he exports to a quicktime will there be much quality loss?

    thanks

Ask him to export as “Self contained”. This will keep the files in the original compression. You can download the codec for installation on your system at here. With this you can read and write nativer Media 100 files.
