  Unable to get colour / quality right with a transparent PNG

  I’ve typically only used PPro for sticking video clips together and haven’t had to bother with colour profiles etc. That said, I’ve recently created an image in Photoshop with a transparent background, exported as PNG and imported into Premiere, but the quality changes substantially.

  On it’s own, against the “default” no-video background, it looks blurry.
  With a black video background or over a clip, it looks blurry and whites appear more prominent, like a lens flare (switching to “Screen” rectifies this somewhat).
  The PNG image on it’s own appears crisp, and it looks fine if I insert a black background via Photoshop.

  I’ve tried changing colour profiles, from 16-bit to 8-bit, sRGB, but no luck.
