  Premiere 2020 way too loud compared to Premiere 2019

  So I updated to Premiere 2020 at work, opened my template project and noticed that every jingle melody and other sounds are WAY TOO LOUD. I actually had to change the volume to minus 7 db so it would peak at 0 again. Odd I thought so I opened the exact same file in Premiere 2019 and I didn’t have to change the volume at all. It would peak at 0 db just fine without any adjustment at all.

  So I can confirm the audio volumes are way way louder in Premiere 2020. I checked the audio track mixer and everything is set to 0. So where could that sudden loudness come from? Just a bug or did Premiere just get louder and I have to get used to it? Has anyone else experienced this yet?

  Did you open the original 2019 project in 2020 and create a new name? Or did you create a new 2020 project and import the 2019 project into it?

  hmm sounds like maybe that additional loudness they added, affects previous version projects levels.
