  • How to compensate for colour changes within a clip.

I’ve been googling this but not getting anywhere helpful.
I have a clip recorded under coloured lights that were supposed to stay steady. I discovered, after the fact, that the lights changed colour according to the intensity of the vocals. Ugh.
How can I correct for this in Premier or After Effects?

Any chance of a reshoot? That would be the best solution.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.

Depending on the speed of change. If it is rapid, Re:Vision De:Flicker does a decent job evening out fast variations. If is is slower, not much you can do, other than manually adjusting it with luma curves. There’s a Color Stabilizer effect in AE, but I find it often adds as much new problems as it corrects.

I just recalled that Chris Wright made an “Auto White balance” template. I haven’t tested it myself but you should give it a try. See here: https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2108848

Thank you, Kalleheikki, I’ll give that a try.

Thank you, Jon. I’m going to try not to resort to that, since the clip was, otherwise, exactly on target. But, that solution is always waiting in the wings. :/
