  • Premiere Pro 13 – will not drag video into the timeline only audio

    Hello,
I am very frustrated with the latest Premiere Update and can’t seem to get help from Adobe because the subscription is through my college, so they do not recognize my user ID. I have been teaching and using Premiere since version 6, so I am very familiar with how it works. I have searched for this issue online but, I do not see it showing up in recent forums.

I am running Windows 10 and updated the Nvidia graphics card and Intel driver as recommended by Adobe, this took care of the playback having green and pink splotches, however while I am able to preview and even mark my video in and out on the preview window, when I drag to the timeline only the audio drops. I have tried double clicking, dragging from the project bin but still not working.

Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thank You

    Hi Jennifer,

I hope this isn’t way off the mark, but have you checked that the video tracks are highlighted on the sequence you’re dragging to (eg. V1 on the very left side)?

This used to catch me out all the time.

Otherwise … I’m afraid I’m out of ideas.

    Goodluck!

    Hello Lawrence,

Thanks for responding, and I have checked that the video tracks are highlighted and unlocked.

I know I’m late to this thread… you say you updated PPro? Have you tried trashing your preferences?
