Unwanted artifacts show up in my export (w/pictures)
I’m working on a music video with an effect that I achieve by layering one clip on top of the other and then apply a cropping mask to the top clip and tracking it throughout the duration of the clip. This creates a wiping transition that I really enjoy. This is what the clip looks like in premiere:
And this is what it looks like upon exporting:
Why do those bars show up on the side when I export and how can I get rid of them? my theory is that it has something to do with the crop effect, but I have no idea why or what to do about it. PLEASE HELP
I’m also including a picture of the timeline at the point of the affected clips, and a picture of the effects on the top clip.

Are you sure you posted a before/after picture? Because I’m looking at both and I swear, they look identical to me.

I didn’t see them either until I went full screen, was looking for black bars. I don’t know the cause, but maybe try exporting with GPU Acceleration OFF as that sometimes is a fix for weird issues like this.

Thanks for the arrows. yeah they are much more noticeable in real-time. I will try another export but I think that this export was already done without GPU.

Do not use the mask on the Crop effect. It can cause strange behaviors.
Any other effect will be fine: i usually use Opacity.———————————————–

Thank you for this. In the future I will be using an opacity mask instead of a crop, it’s probably easier anyway.
