  AE Render Engine Setup???

  I have AE 6.5 Pro and have installed the AE Render Engine on 5 other computers over our small network.
  After setting up the watch folder on all the computers and running the AE Render engine on each computer, I notice that some of the computers show the progress of the image sequence numbers fairly quickly and other extremely slow. For example our 3 GHz Xeon system with 2GB of ram seem to run slower compared to some of our older slower computers. I also noticed that it seems that many of computers running the engine seem to be rendering out frame numbers that have already been surpassed long ago. I also noticed that some systems get to some very high frame numbers and then seem to start over all again at a much lower number?

  Why is this? Have we set this up improperly? I can’t seem to find much documentation about this?

  Network renders can be a pain to set up, but when they are set up right they cook.

  You need to collect all the files to EACH machine to optimize them. Then the computer does not have to look to the network for the reference files — which creates a lag. Have the output to the SAME folder on the network, with the ‘skip existing frames’ option enabled.
