  • How to export captions I made in Premiere Pro CC?

Posted by Mark Suszko on April 20, 2018 at 9:20 pm

I created a caption file within Prem Pro, and I want to export the captions as an .SRT file. I’m new at Premiere so it’s not immediately obvious to me how I export just the captions, not as a video file, but as .srt

    Any help?

afaik, it’s not possible. (But perhaps I’m overlooking something.)
Did you not try to export one single line before putting in effort (way too much as PP is not a caption / subtitle tool)?

Good news, if you can export ANYTHING metadata style, it can probably be converted, but no guarantees that will be free.
Oh, SRT is a subtitle format, not a caption format. There is a difference.

In the project window select the caption file, then choose menu: File -> Export -> Caption

Thanks, Andreas. Took me a minute to navigate to it, but it worked.
