    Good morning,
I have an old video that is poor quality. 25fps. 160×112. Very small and pixelated/blocky.
When I enlarge, it of course just gets worse.

I have tried some different converters using deblocks etc, but nothing seems to work. I have also tried to clean it up in Adobe Premiere with no luck.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks in advance

    That’s…a postage stamp.

Sorry, there is no magic fix, there is nothing there to work with.

Maybe a Terranex hardware-based scaler could help a little, but TANSTAAFL.

If I was desperate, I might try exporting the video as a frame movie and using a fractal-based image scaler on it thru Photoshop. “Genuine Fractals” was the trade name, I recall.

AE does have a Detail-Preserving Upscale that you could try, but I doubt it will help much. Just not enough information in a postage stamp size file.

My fears are confirmed. Thanks for all the responses. I will give those far stretch suggestions a shot

The most you can hope for with that is improving it from “way, way too small” to “way too small”.

    System:
    Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
    Win 7 64-bit
    32GB RAM
Adobe CC 2017.1 (as of 8/2017)
    256GB SSD system drive
4 internal media drives RAID 5
Typically cutting short form from UHD MP4, HD MP4, and HD P2 MXF.
