  • Import Sony camera clips into Premiere Pro CC 2015

Posted by Adam Berch on January 18, 2018 at 5:26 pm

I am working in Premiere Pro CC 2015 on an Imac. I have clips from a Sony Camera that I need to ingest into Premiere.

How can I do this? I want to be able to pick and choose the clips I import before actually importing them.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Adam.

I use Sony cameras and importing is very easy.

After transferring all of your clips to your IMac you can either pre-select by viewing clips using VLC, and importing after that, or import everything and blow it off after viewing.

You can also pre-select by viewing from the media card from your camera first using VLC.

    HI Thanks.

OK When I play the clips through VLC, without Premiere open the clips play fine. When I open Premiere and try to import the clips, it goes to the Beach Ball and doesn’t do anything else. I always have to Force Quit Premiere.

How can I stop this from happening? All I want to do is select all of the clips, import them into Premiere and start working.

Do I need to download a Codec or something? If so, which one and where do I get it?

    Thanks in advance
