Best PC to mac proxy file format
Hi,
I use a pc and I need to output proxy files for my mac editors. Which proxy format makes the most sense?

For them to use in what edit system? And will the online come back to you?

We are all using premiere. They are on Macs, I am on PC.
I will be making proxy files and uploading them via ftp. All the files original files will be placed on mac formatted drives via Macdrive. I will get them the original files when we are done shooting. Im just not certain which proxy export to use that is friendly for all of us.
Also, any notes about our workflow plans are appreciated. You have helped me so many times. Thank you for everything Shane.

If you do this, do it with the PREMIERE PRO method of making proxies so they can relink back to the masters properly. Look up how to make proxies in the manual…. if you do it in another method, you risk not being able to link up properly.

You may want to consider XDCam 17.5Mb. It’s a little know XDCam variant. We choose it for use in our Avids because DNX36 does not support interlaced media and it’s half the size.
