  Will Premiere Pro CC / new Macbook with USB 3 ports allow capture of mini DV tapes from Sony PD170???????

  Hi There,

  I’m having a nightmare trying to get Premiere Pro CC to read a PD170 or small Panasonic DV camera.

  I’ve bought usb-firewire adapter because conveniently the new macbooks have new usb 3 ports.

  Am I wasting my time because the new macbook and Premiere Pro will not recognise these old cameras???

  I have to capture/digitize the footage on 5 mini-DV tapes so I can edit.

  If there’s anybody out there who can shed some light on this I’d be eternally grateful : )))))
