  Day-for-night : How Low Should I Go? (YC Waveform)

  Hello!

  So I’m doing a bit of day-for-night colouring in Premiere Pro using YC Waveform to monitor how I adjust the brightness levels. Been looking at some YouTube videos on how to do this but many seem to advocate taking the waveform level right down to 10 or 20. Seems a bit extreme to me.

  So my question is, how low can I go without making it so dark that the audience can’t see what’s on screen?

  grading is for telling a story, not for being realistic. that’s for documentaries. if you can’t see stuff, its a horror film?!
