  freezing when import media

  I upgraded my computer with a Geforce GTX 1080 TI 11GB , since then the computer is super slow when I try to import a file from the HD to project panel , the software freezes not responding for at least 2 minutes.
  it happens with a file as small as an audio file. what can it be?

  Nothing changed other than the gfx card?

  Pull it and put the old card back in. See if the problem disappears.

  If the freeze-ups go away, you may have found the root issue.

  Dell Precision T7600 (x2)
  Win 7 64-bit
  32GB RAM
  Adobe CC 2015.02 (as of 6/2016)
  256GB SSD system drive
  4 internal media drives RAID 5
  Typically cutting short form from HD MP4 and P2 MXF.
