Audio slowly drifts away from video after uploading in PP
So the audio is more or less in sync at first, but 7 min in it is out of sync. After 12min it is really really out of sync. So it basically progresses out of sync. I checked the untouched video, and there the footage stays in sync. Its a MOV file that is at 29 frames per sec. I tried Pre 2017 and 2015, no difference. I shoot with iphone 6 fyi.
Please don’t tell me to use handbrake. I tried it twice under different settings to prevent quality loss, but there was a major quality loss. This is unexceptionable for me. There must be a way I can change this without losing quality no? One thing I noticed is that my footage is 29fps, but under Sequence Settings PP shows 29.975. Could that have something to do with it?

What is the footage from? Is it variable frame rate? (That is a known issue and has been for some time.)
ETA: I reread your post. It’s from an iPhone, and yes, it’s variable frame rate. The problem is in your phone footage, not Premiere.

Yeah I understand that the two are not compatible. (What a surprise apple is never compatible lol). But still I would assume by now Adobe would have something that could convert it. So many people use iphones, and now especially with the 4K camera phones etc. There cameras have reach a professional quality. I know Adobe could solve the problem with a snap of there fingers if they wanted to.

By definition, a variable frame rate file is not professional quality.
Apple could make their camera output fixed frame rate if they chose. Why blame Adobe for someone else’s inaction?
