I’d like to know how to do the reverse telecine of a 29.97i or p file back to 23.976 or 24p. This can easily be done in FCPX/Compressor. But Compressor has CBR limitations and I would like to use Premiere CC & AME for its ability to do direct transcoding to h.264-mp4 as CBR. This saves a huge intermediate Pro Res 422 file that I do not want to do because I have over hundreds of them.

Can I simply set a different frame rate to 23.976 in the Sequence setting on a 29.97 telecined file and it will do it automatically during export or am I missing something?

So far there’s nothing on the field options that will let me do this.
