  .r3d (RED) files blocked by Windows. No video output in Premiere.

  I have an .r3d based Premiere project that was running smoothly until I received an error from Windows: “Adobe Premiere blocked from accessing graphics hardware.” After this error, both my source and program monitors went black.

  I tried restarting, updating Windows and drivers, and running in safe mode to no avail.

  The only thing that has worked is switching to Software Only for rendering, then output comes back. But these are 6K RAW files and software rendering can’t even begin to handle them. Even weirder, only the .r3d files are affected. Project files with any other footage type open and play fine with GPU acceleration.

  This is also pretty urgent considering I have an August 3rd deadline.

  My specs:
  Windows 10 Enterprise
  Intel Xeon with 32 logical cores
  Nvidia GTX 980
  64GB DDR3
