I think I pretty much encapsulated the problem in the subject. Either when creating proxies or encoding using AME, the 4K .mp4 files from my new G7 come out with no video (black screen), just the audio. The original files work pretty well so I don’t really need to encode them to .mxf, but I still would like to know what the deal is. In AME’s preview window I can see the video in the preview panel. That makes it even stranger.

Any ideas? I know it’s July 4th so don’t burn your weenies just to respond. I can wait 😉

    From my previous post:
” In AME’s preview window I can see the video in the preview panel.”

I’ve tried again after my original post to make sure. Yes, the preview is there. No, the final encode only has audio. It encodes to h264 with no problem.

UPDATE: When I ingest using Prelude I get video and audio. Oddly enough. And of course Prelude uses AME to do the encode so, the mystery deepens.
