Importing VOB files in Premiere Pro
Hi there,
When I import a VOB file (taken off a DVD with recorded footage from a VHS) into Premiere Pro, only about 14 seconds of the video is imported (the video actually plays for much longer than that in media players (VLC). VLC seems to think the VOB file length is also 14 seconds long – but it plays in VLC for about 60 minutes.
I’ve read that you can change the VOB extension to mpg. When I change the extension, the rest of the movie (60 minutes) displays in Premiere Pro, however, there is only audio for the first 14 seconds.
I don’t want to lose any quality from the VOB file, so I was wondering what I should convert the file to? I have tried using MPEG Streamclip and exporting to AVI > Apple DV – PAL. However this gives me a file that is about 25gb – compared to 3gb… :S
Any suggestions of what I could do would be greatly appreciated. 🙂
