    Hi,

I am giving Premiere Pro a try after years of FCP and AVID experience.

I am working on a project with R3D footage, audio recorded separately. As I have always done in FCP with R3D and DSLR footage, I synced the audio and video clips, and then merged them. I always keep the original audio from the camera for reference when I merge clips, but rarely use that audio in sequences.

My question is about the out-of-sync notification in Premiere Pro CS6 with merged clips. In FCP, merged clips behave like any other clip, meaning that if you are out of sync with any of the tracks you get the little flag notice. In Premiere I see you do get an out-of-sync flag, but only with the reference track from the camera, not from any of the additional merged tracks. Please tell me I am overlooking something simple — how can anyone (easily) cut in Premiere with audio recorded separately if you don’t get out-of-sync notifications??

    Thanks,
    Anne

    Hi Anne,

I realise that you posted this more than a year ago. I am experiencing exactly the same problem – did you manage to find a solution?
