Still image with audio
I deleted an earlier post because I found a good tutorial to start me off. I am using Adobe Premiere Pro CS5, on a Windows 7 machine.
Here is my current issue: I have inserted a clip into the timeline, unlinked the audio and video, trimmed out the video I didn’t want. Now I would like to put a still image in where the video used to be. I have imported the still image (a .psd), and marked the in and out points to match the audio clip exactly. But I am unable to add this to the timeline without it pushing all the video forward.
Can someone let me know at least what term I should be searching for, for a tutorial?

Press period (.) when you have your still image in your source (preview) monitor. This will add it to your timeline using an overwrite edit. It sounds like you’re pressing the shortcut or the icon for an insert edit which will, indeed, push other clips down to make room for itself.
Alternately, just drag the still onto a new track of video. Video tracks are like layers so as long as that image is opaque, you’d never see that video existed under it in track one.
