CS4 Rendering suddenly takes 4 times longer
Been using Pro CS4 for several years. Rendering has never been a problem for me. Now all of the sudden projects that may have taken 6-8 hours to rendering are taking 20 hours or more! Does anybody have a clue how that might suddenly be happening?
I am rendering to Encore for a DVD.
The only thing I have done different recently is that I added one of my owned additional used hard drives into the machine, but it is not used in any way with these projects. But just to eliminate that as a problem, I have disconnected it completely and I still have the same problem.
Any ideas? -

I had a similar problem with an old hard drive. If that’s not the problem then check to see you have enough space on your hd, processes running in the background (run msconfig and restart pc with only the basic services running and render to see if it improves the time), check for viruses or malware, overheated CPU, slow fan..defrag your drive and try this benchmark software. https://ppbm4.com/
