  Video vanishes from Source and Program Monitor CS5.5

  We have just upgraded to the full CS5.5 sweet, and we have hit a strange issue. After working for several minutes on a project, suddenly the video will no longer show up in the source or program monitor. They will just turn gray, and while the timecode is there, and you can drag video from there, you cannot see or here the actual video.

  playback of any kind, even on the timeline, stops as well. If we restart the program, it’s good again for another couple of minutes, and then the process starts again.

  Has anyone run into this issue?

  We are running them on brand new machines that were set uo by ProMax, so I’m guessing (although I could be wrong) that it is not a hardware issue, just something we may be doing wrong.

  I am having the same issue… it’s not consistent tho… sometimes it doesn’t happen for days and other times I restart every 10-15 minutes…

  I wonder if it has to do with using VTS (DVD) files or some other codec that Premiere just loses sight of?

  Any insight from anyone?
