Using PPro CS 5.5 and FCP 7
I work with multiple editors and up until now we’ve all used FCP. I would like to move to PPro but they want to stay on FCP. The only problem is that we occasionally need to use the same footage. There doesn’t seem to be a good alternative to Log and Capture to make footage I use in PPro, accessible to them later in the FCP environment. I really like using native formats to edit with without converting to ProRes, but there doesn’t seem to be a good way to re-name and log footage in the PPro environment so that my FCP friends can still edit with the same footage at a later date. We mostly use AVCHD files from an Af100, but also deal with r3d’s, P2 footage and canon dslr .mov’s.
I’ve tried using Bridge, renaming files in PPro, clipwrap, played with adobe OnLocation and Media Encoder – but none really make the file names accessible to FCP.
Is there a way to rename native files in PPro so that if they were needed by FCP at a later date, you could just throw the entire batch of clips into log and transfer and they would already be named and just need converting to ProRes (or other codec)?
Thanks!
