  Upper or Lower Field First??

  Hi, I have a problem with fields.
  I have some video footage from a dv camcorder.
  The files are in mpg format and I scanned them and they are upper field first.
  What would happen if I render that footage using lower field first?
  I have read that DV is normally lower field first.
  I think the camcorder was bought in the USA.
  Could this be the reason?
  Hope someone can point me in the right direction.

  DV (tape) from a camera is dv-avi with lower field.
  Mpg from a SD (standard def.) probably a dvd camera, is almost always upper field. So make your sequence upper field. Also export to upper field.

  thanks for your help Ann, that really helped me out.
  I wonder if I can ask another question please?
  I did do a few tests and my title looks doubled.
  The title is animated but doesn’t look sharp, it is all distorted.
  Could this be related to the lower/upper field issue?
  I have read that progressive is for motion titles, etc
  If this is the case, would it be ok to create a progressive title with an upper field video?
  I hope that makes sense.

  A title does not have any fields.
