  Can’t export 1024 x 768 sequence to 1024 x 768 in Premier Pro CS4?

  I have a sequence that is 1024 x 786 in Premiere Pro. The footage and images in the sequence are 1024 x 768.

  Basically, I can’t get the output in Premierer Pro to register 1024 x 768. It defaults to 720 x 576. But when I click OK to this, and it opens in Media Encoder I can select the Apple Intermediate Codec and change the 720 x 576 to 1024 x 768 which DOES export as a 1024 x 576 file, only it has black bands on the right and left sides of the frame?

  WHY! WHY! WHY!

  In Adobe Media Encoder, click on the video tab. After clicking on the button to unlock aspect ratio, change the frame size to 1024 x 768.
