  • Shuttle and Jog – FCP vs APP

    Hi there,

I have been using Final Cut Pro to make sports training videos, tutorials, game reviews etc.
I make a lot of use of overlays, and in fact, I use FCP itself as training tool as the trainer and athletes can sit in and see their moves and plays better with using the shuttle.

Now I have a trial version of APP here, to try out (as we are planning to get a 50p camera for better slow-motions and apparently I can’t import that into FCP).

However, when I use the shuttle in APP, the image gets blurry, until I stop – then the image resharpens again.
In FCP, the image always remained sharp when using the shuttle, so it was usable as a training tool. In APP, it’s not so far. Is there something I must do to change this?

    Thank you in advance,

    Maarten

    Hi Maarten,
In your program window, click the options button in the upper-right-hand corner, and check to see if your “playback resolution” is set to “Full”:

(Those are custom hotkeys, by the way; you’ll have to set your own…)

Ben has addressed your specific question, but I thought that it might be helpful to point you to some additional resources.

These resources should help you to get started with Premiere Pro if you know FCP.
