I’m about to order CS5 Production premium. My iMac may be a little undernourished. Any thoughts? Will CS5 even run on this machine?

    Mac OS 10.6.8
2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 duo
    2 gig ram
    ATI Radeon HD2600
Cal Digit 2 TB external RAID drive

    thanks,
    Mark

    Barely.

See “FAQ: What computer and components should I buy for Premiere Pro or After Effects?”

Todd isn’t too far off… it will run CS5, but you may want to add some RAM if you are planning on sticking with that system. Not much else you can do to upgrade an iMac, except buy a new one.

I just sold one of those for $700 on craigslist. Get what you can for it and get a new machine. Make sure it’s an i7…

Unless you’re fed up with Apple and are ready to move elsewhere.
