making alpha channel transparent when importing in Premiere Pro
I am trying to import animated wipes and lower thirds into premiere pro. However whenbi import them the alpha channel is gray and not transparently like I want them to be. How can I import these files and or how do I apply an effect that will make the alpha channel transparently. Or do I need to use after effects for this???

Make sure the wipes etc carrie an alpha channel like psd or png.
Jpeg does not have a alpha channel.———————————————–

In the export settings where you made the wipes.
Mov is million of colours + for alpha (i think, not a mac person) or 32 bits.———————————————–

When you import a file with an alpha channel, it should show up in Premiere Pro with the information at the top of the Project Panel, something like this:
Video, 1280×720 (1.0), Alpha
00:00:01:45, 59.94 fps
If this doesn’t help, a bit more information would be useful; I know you’re using the shot as a transition, but where did it come from, and how are you trying to implement it as a transition?

Thanks jeff. I will check to see if it indeed does have that info in the project panel. I am using the transitions from the Editors Tool Kit. I copied the etk files from the dvd to my external hard drive. How am I using them? I’m not quite sure what u mean by this…I am using it as a transition from one shot to another, as well as using lower thirds. The clips are placed on the highest layer above the other clips. Thanks again and I will post later to let you know if the clips do have that info about it.
