  Problems with Imported MP4V via Premiere Pro CS5

  Hi all,

  A friend has asked me to knock-up a little video of his child’s christening using some impromptu footage from a Sony W270 camera. It shoots 720P and is UK stock so I guess 25fps.

  When I import the footage into Pr it seems to get damaged. See this 10 second video: https://youtu.be/PHwyXYTgEtM

  Any ideas what might be going wrong here? Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

  First you should isolate the problem as to whether the file itself is damaged, or whether playing it in your computer is the culprit.

  If it’s still able to be played in-camera, try that and see if the trouble shows up there. If not, then you’ll know that the file itself is more than likely not the problem.

  Hi there,
  Thanks for that. The files play fine if I double click them on my laptop and also if I import into Cyberlink Power Director.

  Do I need to change any settings in Pr?

  I’m assuming that the problem occurs when playing your timeline in Premiere, but does it also occur when playing one of the clips in the Source Monitor? If it only in the Program Monitor, then I’d suspect the sequence settings.
