  Output Video aspect issue

  Dear one,
  I am a novice and recorded my son’s drama using Panasonic SDR-H85 cam coder with TV aspect 16:9 at XP mode.
  I have copied the file to one of my friends PC, who is having Adobe PP CS5, changed the extension from .MOD to .MPG and imported the clipping to a project with similar preset (16:9, with pixel ratio 720 x 576). However the characters looks longer, like whole video compressed by width, though while playing with Win Media player it is looks fine. I have tried with all available presets in Adobe PP and even tried with custom setting by manually setting the pixel numbers. Still no use. Can somebody tell me where I went wrong or how can I get a video at right aspect.

  MOD files do not have the widescreen flag.
  Select all the clips in the project window and go to Interprete Footage and set it to widescreen. That should do the trick.
