  aspect ratios

  I’m doing a school project for national History Day. I’ve made some content in After effects and am now trying to import into premier pro to edit and output to encore for dvd burning. I would like to make a 16×9 720×480 res dvd. What aspect ratio settings should be used in after effects and premier pro so that everything is the same. As of now I’ve spent a few hours experimenting and I can’t seem to get it to work. All the aftereffects footage is a different aspect ratio even though both the project in premier pro and the footage are dv ntsc widescreen ratios. Please help.

  For DV Widescreen, if you are working with square pixels – PAR 1.0, create graphics or video at 864×480 (I think that’s correct, although if you research it you will find conflicting numbers).

  Ideally, you would be working with material that is 720×480 – PAR 1.2.

  It’s possible Premiere isn’t interpreting the files aspect ratio correctly. You can select the files in the bin to view/edit the aspect ratio interpretation.
