So I’ve got the CS5 trial installed, and have a video of my track day in my car. I’d like to put two laps side by side. I found a tutorial explaining how to do this and did so, added a title, saved it. At some point i deleted the entire project and started over.

However, the problem is when i add a clip to the timeline, i can NOT select it in the program monitor. i tried using the hand, the regular arrow, i cannot select it to move it around or resize it.

I started a new project and just have the 1 clip in it, I can not move it around. I can not move anything around inside the program monitor window.

    Please help!

    Thanks,
    Martin

Well I solved the problem by switching my environment out of editing mode and into effects mode – this allowed me to put the coordinates of the clips in manually, however i am still unable to drag the clips around the program monitor…

    anyone have a suggestion?

I wish someone would answer this…. this is why I prefer to use FCP7. It’s so much more user friendly with many if not more of the features Premiere Pro has. Resizing objects on multiple tracks has been incredibly frustrating for me as well. Unfortunately, the newer Mac Operating Systems are going to support FCP7 less and less (so characteristic of greedy Apple), which is why I’m trying to get used to Premiere Pro. But it certainly seems to have some significant drawbacks.
