  Which Audio Filter to Use?

  I’m not sure which audio filter to use. Hopefully one of you knows an answer.

  I have a clip where a girl with a high-pitched voice is talking and there is a deep, low-pitched crowd murmur behind her. I know there must be a way to separate out the pitches so I can make her voice a little more prominent and the crowd a little softer. Any ideas?

  Try EQ and/or a High Pass Filter.

  You can amplify the frequencies over 5k and attenuate everything under 3 or so.

  Those are example numbers, of course you’ll have to play around and adjust to your specific frequencies, but that should be a start.

  There is a very inexpensive software that Izotope makes and I used it all of the time for separating unwanted noises from the voice track. This is better than anything you will find in Soundbooth, and it is only $349.
