hey everyone. My question is this. i have been working with FCP for the last couple of years. Now I am making the transition to PC and premiere. Do you know how on FCP you go to View-external video-all frames and you can see your edited video on your camcorder? and then you just hit record on your camcorder to tape your video? I used to play a lot with the timeline and get some really crazy movements and images that I would then record, import back to the computer and then put music to, getting some really cool videos.

My question is: Can this also be done in premiere? I dont thinks this is the same as exporting to tape, as you manually play with the timeline and record it in your camera. Does premiere have the same view-external video-all frames feature?

Thanks in advance for your answers. good bye

Yes, Premiere has this feature. It is different in different versions of premiere, but is always under the heading “external monitoring”.

Check under project settings, or “preferences” for options that discuss external monitoring and IEEE 1394
