“Recorder captured no frames”
Hi, I’m having trouble capturing video from a camera on my computer and would appreciate some help. Please understand that I’m rather ignorant when it comes to technology, but I’ll be as clear and detailed as possible.
Problem:
Unable to capture video from a Canon Vixia HV40 on Adobe Premiere (CS4). I am able to control the playback on Premiere and to view the footage on the screen of the camera. However, the capture screen on Premiere remains blank. When I stopped “recording,” I got the message, “recorder captured no frames.”I have tried to capture on Windows Movie Maker as well and received the same result. NO footage shows up on the capture screen, and nothing is recorded.
The video was shot on a Panasonic camera on standard definition. I’m helping a friend edit the footage, so the tape is not mine. The Canon Vixia that I’m using to capture the video is also borrowed. I’ve changed the setting to DV instead of HDV.
Below are some additional details:
Desktop: Dell Studio 540
Operating System: Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit
Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo
