    Check to make sure you exported the audio.
    Enable multiplexing.
    If you didn’t multiplex, than it’s possible that there’s an audio file, somewhere, that wasn’t added to the burn.
    Burn to DVD-RW for testing, assuming your standalone player accepts that medium.

    Many thanks Vince,
    I now find that the audio is OK using the DVD player connected to the TV. It fails on the computer player although other dvd’s are OK.

    If the audio is AC3 you probably need to install a ac3filter codec.
    Run the dvd through GSpot and see if a codec is missing.
