  • Timeline clip don’t show in the program monitor

    Hello,

Just installed Adobe Premiere 6.5 and opened an AVI clip.
The clip runs perfectly in the source monitor (as I learned here in another thread it is just Windows Media Player), but not in the program monitor.
The program monitor stayed black and occasionally a noise will be heard.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
    Mor

Is it a real dv-avi(from a camera) or is it an avi with some exotic codec like divx?
The latter is not appreciated by Premiere.

    Hi Ann.

It is an “exotic” AVI, I believe DivX.
When opened, I was prompted that a codec was missing, so I downloaded and installed XviD.

This is the only file I have of this source. What can I do?

    Thanks!

The file needs to be converted to a format that Premiere likes like dv-avi.
