Audio on Timeline and Preview DVD; not on final DVD
I have placed voice remarks, sound effects, voice remarks from digital recorder, and music on my Timeline. All sounds are present when I play the Timeline; all sounds are present when I preview DVD within DVD Layout. When I burn the DVD I do not have sound. Why? How do I correct this problem?

I’m guessing you are not multiplexing and getting separate audio and video files.

OK, what is multiplexing? Didn’t see any mention of multiplexing in my Classroom in a Book.

Problem persists. If I enter Burn DVD or Export to DVD, I get this screen: Export Settings, Format: MPEG DVD; Range: Entire Sequence; Preset: NTSC Progression 4:3 High Quality, 7Mb CBR 1 Pass. Forgot to mention Deinterlace and Scale to Fit are not checked. Export Video and Export Audio are checked. It is set to MPEG-2, and ISO/IEC 13818 in the Multiplex area. Audio: Format – PCM (Dolby Digital, MPEG); Codec – PCM Audio; Basic Audio settings: 16 bit, 48 kHz.
I went to the FAQ: Why is there no audio in my exported MPEG file? Second bullet said I needed to select “DVD” in my multiplex setting to get audio and video in a single file … I then went to See “MPEG multiplexer preset options” in the Premiere Pro 2.0 Help for details.
After I went there I did not find a “DVD” to select in the multiplex setting.
What am I missing?

That sounds correct, according to page 391 of the PPro 2.0 manual.
Have you tried playing the exported file in multiple different media players?
