Video Layering/Movie Trailer
Hello,
I’m new to Adobe Premiere, but I am trying to create something like a movie trailer. What I am trying to figure out before I download this program is if I will be able to layer videos.An an example of what I’m trying to achieve is similar to how on the news, the newscaster starts a story and while they are still talking, it cuts to another video, but you can still hear the newscaster talking.
Is this possible and is it difficult to do?

This is called picture-in-picture and is very easy to do in Premiere Pro.
You will also find links to many free tutorials in the PremiereProPedia that will quickly show you how things are done in Premiere Pro.

Hi Rishele,
What you are referring to is a Split Edit. You would right-click the video clip on the timeline and select “Unlink”, then you can edit the audio and video clips independently so you could cut the newscaster video and insert new video while the underlying audio of the newscaster continues on.
