I just purchased a HP Pavilion A6130n PC with Windows Vista. I got all my software loaded and when I go to capture video from my Sony DSR 11 VTR in to Premiere the video window does not show up in the capture window with the controls. I have control over the deck with the capture controls but the video can’t be seen. In the settings for the capture it says “unable to connect to capture driver” Any suggestions?

Try going into Project Settings/General, and click the Playback Settings button to ensure it’s set to play on desktop.

I had the same issue with Premiere. You have to run Premiere as Administrator in Vista in order to capture. Browse to Premiere through Explore, right click and choose “Run as Administrator”
