  Premiere crashing when adding new clip to timeline

  It seems to come and go. One day everything works fine. The next, I cannot add a video clip (and sometimes even an audio clip) to the timeline without Premiere locking up. I have to go into Task Manager to close it and try again. Sometimes I can add the new clip to a new timeline and then drag that timeline into the original timeline, but even that doesn’t always work. I would appreciate nay help if someone has an idea of what I’m doing. I am using Premiere CC 2015.2, Build 9.2.0

  Hey Pete, please list the specs of the comp you’re using. Also, what codec/wrapper you usually use. Would help the gurus here to help you:)

  Do you have the RAM configged to max allowed in prefs?
  I use 16 GB and Adobe sets the min of 3GB for other programs and services.

  Unless you are doing 3D layering and or a huge layer load with unrendered effect your should have enough for 1080p HD.
