  Creating dcp with Adobe cc

  Hello

  I am new to the world of DCP, I will soon be screening an independent move at a theatre that can only except DCP. the move is currently 1080p 25. I plan to use the new Adobe DCP Wrapator export settings so I am not concerned about making the file. But once the file is made do I need to format the external had drive a certain way so that most cinema projectors can see it? I have read conflicting things about NTFS , ext2, ext.3, ext4, etc
  ideally I just want to drop this DCP file onto a drive

  A lot of the playback servers out there support NTFS formatted drives
  but there are many that don’t.

  All DCP servers can read linux ext3 (with an inode of 128)

  So every DCP i do goes on a linux ext3 inode 128 formatted disk
  to ensure no problems loading.

  While 25fps is in the DCP specs there are still a bunch of players that do not support that frame rate. Just a heads up.

  Thanks a lot for the advice Chris,

  So If I do make this file up on a mac using adobe cc what would be the best way to get that file onto a ext3 drive?

  also what is the best way to format a drive to ext3?

  Appreciate the heads up. The theatre is in Europe so I assumed 25fps. Thankfully adobe allows both 24fps and 25fps so it should not be a problem regardless of what my original sequence is in. I hope

  This assumption would be correct when dealing with broadcast. In theatres there might be a bunch of older players because the biggest films are usually 24fps.

  I know that paragon makes an ext3 read/write utility for mac to
  do the copying but last I checked it could format to ext3
  but not inode 128 which is critical.

  The way i do it, I use the free version of vmware and have
  a linux virtual machine and use it for the partitioning
  and formatting to ext3 and inode 128.

  I also use a linux only utility called dcp_inspect that
  verifies the integrity of the DCP after it’s copied
  as further insurance.

  If you know it’s only going to a few theaters you could
  probably contact them and ask if they are compatible with NTFS.

  You might also try to find a local theater that plays independent
  films and see if for a fee they will load and let you preview
  the DCP. I have one a few blocks away from our facility
  and they charge $ 100 per loading/showing.
