scaling images in a mask
Posted by Chris H on July 13, 2006 at 11:14 pmHi-Simple question that I can’t figure out. I have a mask and I want to scale the image being masked, leaving the mask as is. How do I do this?

July 13, 2006 at 11:40 pmdo you mean the mask stays as it is by not scaling or the mask stays as it is in proportion to the image therefore scaling as well?

July 13, 2006 at 11:53 pmI’m not really sure of an answer, but I’ve got a couple possible work arounds.
maybe you could pre-comp, and select “leave attributes” then scale everything up within the pre-comp?
or instead of using a mask, make a track matte layer – then you can control both layers independently

July 14, 2006 at 3:37 amThere are workarounds but there is no way to resize the image underlaying a mask. You can however change position…My suggestion would be to CUT the mask (CTRL+X or CMD+X on a Mac) and then resize your layer, and paste the mask on it. Make sure to make a backup of your layer just in case.
