Playback in Premiere maxing out all my CPU’s, but playback in quicktime doesn’t
Hey all! I’ve done a lot of searching around the internet and am at the end of my knowledge rope. Whenever I playback footage in Premiere Pro CC, it peggs all my CPU cores. Doesn’t matter how complex or simple the sequence is, even if it’s just previewing a clip from the bin.
But when I play back the same footage (canon 60D 1080p) in quicktime or WMP, it only takes up about 10-15 percent of my CPUs. What could be causing PP to be so processor hungry?
I am running a custom built windows 7 tower with a Core i7, 3.2ghz processor, Nvidia GTX 660 w/ 2gb ddr5, 16gb 1600mhz ram, the OS on an SSD, and footage on a 7200 internal HDD.Thanks a bunch!
